Forest Adventure Park is located in Onna. The actual park itself is only accessible via free shuttle bus, which you catch from one of their parking lots after you’ve visited their main office. Staff speak Japanese and English, and are very helpful. Once you’ve paid and made your way to the park, it’s time to suit up! Staff will help you to put on your safety harness, and you’ll be given a safety brief, plus a lesson on how to work the equipment. It’s relatively simple, and staff will check to ensure you understand. Briefing is given in Japanese and English. After this, you will start the course. It goes from easy to harder as you progress. The first part is a tightrope style bridge to walk along and a small zip line to ease you in. If you’ve bought a bag, you can leave it behind, but note there is nowhere to lock up valuables, and you are advised not to leave them. They can however provide small bags for these that you can wear around the course. It’s free.

The course is a mix of zip lining and small obstacle courses, such as ladders and rope bridges. It’s moderate in difficulty, and not suitable for small children, pregnant women, elderly, or disabled. The views are breathtaking, and the trip round is great fun! It would make for a perfect day out with friends or work colleagues. There are age and height restrictions, see their website for more information: http://fa-onna.foret-aventure.jp/eng/ It costs 3800 yen, or 3500 yen in a group discount. You can book online here: http://foret-aventure.jp/eng/booking-list/. Be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, sensible, lace up shoes, and sunscreen.
