Longing for more than just a quick stop at a restaurant where it’s eat and go? Do you want to experience international cuisine, kind staff who seem more like friends than servers, good music and and family-like atmosphere? Head on over to Ken’s Beachfront Cafe in Maeda. It’s located right at the ocean and it super easy to find. Stepping in, you are welcomed by a pic nick- pit stop kind of feel with a cool car and a motorcycle as decoration and barrels as seats, which are surprisingly comfortable.

The menu varies from Italian, Filipino, Mexican to Island cuisine. I went to lunch on a Sunday and was quite surprised at the many customers. My friend and I got the Tocino Burger and the Adobo as main dishes, a cranberry and mango juice and Lumpia for appetisers. Many customers love the Adobo, the steak, Pizza and of course the various entrees. The Tocino burger was sweet and juicy, the fries seasoned with a little spice and the soft Adobo pork was marinated in a well-rounded Soy sauce. We felt filled and satisfied after the meal and chatted with owner Eddie about the start up of this cafe. We felt right at home and very welcomed.

If you decide on visiting Ken’s Beachfront Cafe, take some time to enjoy in the beautiful ocean view, listen to some good live music, try all kinds of well prepared international cuisine and relax with others likeminded friends. The prices of the dishes vary from 700Yen for hearty appetisers, to 1200-2000Yen for the burgers, pastas, steaks, filipino main dishes.
