Stylish and upmarket, this vegan restaurant showcases the very best of local, organic, plant-based cuisine.

Located just off Kokusai Dori in the heart of Naha, Ukishima Garden is the perfect blend of sophisticated and ethical dining, with friendly staff and a welcoming vibe. The menu is 100% vegan, and also free from additives, chemicals and genetically modified food, on top of which they use locally grown, organic vegetables and grains. You can expect Okinawan ingredients such as goya (bitter melon) and mozuku seaweed to feature prominently in your meal!

During the day there’s a selection of lunch sets to choose from, such as taco rice, curry and a millet hamburger, each of which can be customised with the addition of dessert and/or a drink. In the evenings, as well as à la carte options they have five-course and six-course set menus on offer, with both wine pairings and non-alcoholic drink pairings available. These are a fantastic way to sample a variety of Ukishima Garden’s best dishes – highlights from our visit included a beautifully seasoned herb cutlet, and sushi appetisers that were very impressive versions of the real thing.

As you might expect from this kind of restaurant, the prices are rather on the expensive side. However the quality of the food and pleasant ambience are undoubtedly worth it: each dish on the menu is thoughtfully created, elegantly presented, and absolutely delicious.
